Iranian President Pezeshkian Urges Vigilance Against Disruptive Forces in Saudi-Iran Relations
Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a strong warning against attempts by “enemies and ill-wishers” to create discord between Iran and Saudi Arabia. In a meeting on Tuesday with Saudi Minister of State Prince Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz, who represents Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Pezeshkian emphasized the need for vigilance, unity, and solidarity to counter such conspiracies.
Pezeshkian underscored the importance of the longstanding religious and cultural bonds between the two nations, highlighting a recent constructive phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He expressed that the relations between Tehran and Riyadh have traditionally been grounded in shared religion, neighborly ties, and cordial exchanges.
Prince Mansour, delivering congratulations from Saudi leadership, affirmed the deep-rooted connections between the two countries based on common history, culture, and Islam. He expressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to expanding bilateral relations and viewed the resumption of diplomatic ties last year as a foundation for enhancing mutual interests, benefiting both the region and the international community.
The meeting and Pezeshkian’s remarks come as he was formally sworn in as Iran’s ninth president in a Tehran ceremony earlier on Tuesday.
