Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, set to make her Tollywood debut in Jr NTR’s “Devara”, recently encountered criticism on social media following a viral video of her practicing cricket. Additionally, a behind-the-scenes video released to promote her latest film “Mr & Mrs. Mahi” also sparked controversy.
The video featured Janhvi dressed in cricket attire, engaging in batting and bowling with friends. Despite her efforts to showcase her enthusiasm for the sport, she faced backlash on social media, with many users accusing her of being insincere and only seeking publicity by using a tennis ball instead of a cricket ball.
In response, Janhvi clarified that she opted for a tennis ball to enhance her hand-eye coordination and timing, emphasizing her concern for avoiding injuries, particularly to her hands and fingers.
“After sustaining an injury from playing with a cricket ball, I switched to practicing with a tennis ball,” Janhvi explained. She also received support from fans and her mother, Sridevi, who fondly remembered her iconic cricket scene in the film “Mr. India”, praising Janhvi for upholding the family tradition.
Meanwhile, “Mr & Mrs. Mahi” has garnered positive reviews from A-centers for its heartfelt emotions, with attention now turning to its box office performance.
