Hyderabad: AP Jithender Reddy, former MP, has assumed office as the Telangana Government’s Special Representative in New Delhi, effective Wednesday. He holds the position of Advisor to the Government (Sports Affairs) with the rank equivalent to that of a State Minister.
Upon taking up his new responsibilities, Jithender Reddy received warm greetings from state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior Congress leaders, including Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, K Jana Reddy, Mallu Ravi, and Vamsi Chand Reddy.
“I am honored to undertake this new assignment and pledge to fulfill the trust placed in me by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Garu,” Jithender Reddy remarked.
A seasoned politician and two-time MP from Mahabubnagar, initially with the BJP and later with the BRS, Jithender Reddy’s appointment by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy aims to enhance effective liaison with the Central Government in New Delhi.
Following his denial of the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha ticket by the BJP, Jithender Reddy, along with his son, joined the Congress party. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, hailing from Kodangal in Mahabubnagar district, personally invited him to join the Congress, a decision to which Reddy and his son acceded.
