Bollywood Star Aamir Khan’s elder son, Junaid Khan, is set to feature prominently in upcoming film projects. Initially anticipated to debut in the film reportedly titled “Ek Din” alongside Sai Pallavi, Junaid will instead make his first appearance in the Netflix Original film “Maharaj,” produced by Yash Raj Entertainment. Interestingly, both “Maharaj” and the film with Sai Pallavi are directed by Siddharth P Malhotra.
“Maharaj,” set in the late 19th century and based on real-life events, casts Junaid as a journalist investigating allegations against a religious leader accused of misconduct with female devotees. The film also stars Shalini Pandey of “Arjun Reddy” fame, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sharvari. Despite initial speculations about sensitivity, Netflix confirmed the inclusion of “Maharaj” in their 2024 content slate, slated for release on June 14. A poster featuring Jaideep as the religious leader facing off against Junaid’s character has also been unveiled.
In addition to “Maharaj,” Junaid is lined up to collaborate with Sridevi’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, in the Hindi remake of “Love Today,” further expanding his repertoire in the film industry.
