Popular Hindi actress and model Shefali Jariwala, best known for her breakout performance in the iconic 2002 music video Kaanta Laga, passed away late Friday night in Mumbai following a massive cardiac arrest. She was 41.
Shefali was rushed to the hospital by her husband, television actor Parag Tyagi, but was declared brought dead upon arrival. Her body has since been shifted to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Known for her charm and versatility, Shefali rose to fame with Kaanta Laga, becoming a household name and a pop culture icon. She further gained widespread popularity through her participation in Bigg Boss 13, where her poised yet strong-willed personality won her a new generation of fans.
Shefali and Parag Tyagi, who tied the knot in 2015, also appeared together in the celebrity dance reality shows Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7, showcasing their chemistry and dance prowess.
Beyond television, Shefali made memorable film appearances, including a special role in the 2004 Bollywood hit Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra. She also acted in the 2011 Kannada film Hudugaru, starring Puneeth Rajkumar.
