Bollywood icon Kajol stuns in a never-before-seen avatar in her upcoming film MAA, where she embodies a ferocious maternal force battling evil to protect her child. Directed by Chhorii filmmaker Vishal Furia, this supernatural revenge drama blends mythology, horror, and raw emotion to tell a gripping tale of a mother’s unstoppable wrath.
On Monday, Kajol gave fans a glimpse into the film’s intense world by unveiling a striking poster on Instagram. The artwork shows a tempestuous, storm-filled sky lit by lightning, framing a terrifying face-off between Kajol and a demonic creature with blazing red eyes and scorched skin. Her expression, a mix of fury and anguish, speaks volumes. Blood trickles from her forehead wounds, yet her stance screams defiance.
The powerful tagline, “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA.”, hints at the epic themes of protector, destroyer, and divine mother — all embodied by her character.
Captioning the poster, Kajol wrote:
“Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA. The protector. The destroyer. Trailer drops in 4 days.”
MAA is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, with a cast that includes Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Jitin Gulati. While plot details remain under wraps, early hints suggest the film may be tied to the dark, expanding universe introduced in Devgn’s Shaitaan.
Reportedly, MAA centers on a mother’s battle against sinister forces threatening her daughter’s life — a fierce journey into darkness and beyond. With Kajol at the helm in an action-heavy role, it marks a significant genre shift for the actress, known more for emotional drama than physical combat.
In addition to MAA, Kajol will soon be seen in Maharagni: Queen of Queens, an action thriller directed by debutant Charan Tej Uppalapati. The film reunites her with Prabhu Deva after nearly 30 years, alongside a stellar ensemble featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Samyuktha, Jisshu Sengupta, Aditya Seal, and others. From romantic dramas to mythic warriors, Kajol is clearly entering a bold new chapter in her career — and audiences are watching with bated breath.
