BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha Slams Congress Government for Unfulfilled Promises
BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has sharply criticized the Congress government in Telangana for failing to deliver on its pre-election promises, particularly those aimed at benefiting women and farmers. Speaking to the media after a visit to a church in Medak, Kavitha accused the Congress administration of deceiving women by not fulfilling commitments such as the distribution of Christmas gifts, Ramzan Tohfa, and Bathukamma sarees, which were part of the party’s promises during the elections.
Kavitha emphasized that during the election campaign, the Congress party had promised ₹2,500 per month for every woman, along with schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and one tola gold. However, she claimed that these promises remain unaddressed, and the government owes ₹30,000 to each woman in the state. She also called out the failure to provide scooters to girls aged 18 and above, another key pledge made by Congress.
Pointing to rising crime rates under Congress’ one-year rule, Kavitha expressed concern over a 40% increase in crimes and warned that women would not remain silent if the government continued to neglect its commitments. “Women will hold the Congress government accountable for its failures,” she asserted.
Kavitha further demanded that the government stop reducing eligibility criteria for the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which aims to provide financial support to farmers. She also questioned the status of promised increases in support prices for key crops like maize, red gram, soybean, and cotton. Additionally, Kavitha criticized the delays in issuing ration cards and called for every household member to receive ration rice as promised by the government.
