National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh is set to lead the upcoming satirical comedy-drama Uppu Kapparambu, directed by Ivy Sashi and produced by Radhika L. The film also features young talent Suhas in a prominent role. Skipping a theatrical release, the movie is set to premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on July 4, and will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
The trailer, unveiled by the makers, promises a unique blend of humor and social commentary. It introduces Keerthy Suresh as a naive village girl who unexpectedly takes charge as the village head following her father’s death. Soon, an unusual problem shakes the village: the cemetery has run out of space, with only four burial plots left. As panic sets in, the villagers are forced to come together to resolve the crisis — a quirky yet thought-provoking premise that forms the crux of the film.
The story is penned by Vasanth Muralikrishna Malinganti, and from the trailer’s tone, Uppu Kapparambu appears to explore human behavior and community dynamics through satire and wit, all while anchored by Keerthy’s strong central performance.
With its offbeat narrative and ensemble cast, Uppu Kapparambu aims to offer a fresh streaming experience to audiences across languages.
