Jamshedpur: Kejriwal Accuses PM Modi of Anti-Tribal Actions and Plotting to Overthrow Elected Governments
On Tuesday, May 21, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling him “anti-tribal” and accusing him of imprisoning the “tallest tribal leader of the country.” Kejriwal further alleged that Modi conspired to topple the elected governments of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
During an election rally in Jamshedpur, Kejriwal launched a vehement attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its spokesperson, Sambit Patra, who claimed that “Lord Jagannath is Modi’s devotee.” Kejriwal urged the public to “crush their arrogance.”
“Prime Minister Modi plotted to dismantle AAP and JMM, but we emerged stronger. He failed to overthrow the governments in Delhi, Punjab, and Jharkhand,” Kejriwal stated.
The Delhi CM also claimed that despite the PM’s efforts to incarcerate him, he was released on bail, attributing it to his devotion to Bajrangbali. He expressed confidence that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is currently imprisoned, would soon be free. Kejriwal likened Soren’s wife, Kalpana, to ‘Jhansi ki Rani’ for her defiance against Modi. He accused the PM of “hooliganism,” asserting that no court had found either Hemant Soren or himself guilty.
Kejriwal accused PM Modi of harboring animosity towards tribals and urged voters to reject the BJP, claiming that a vote for the BJP would betray Jharkhand and its tribal communities. He cited the exclusion of President Droupadi Murmu from the Ram Mandir consecration as an example of tribal discrimination.
“If you press the button with the lotus symbol (of the BJP), Hemant Soren will remain in jail. It will be a betrayal of Jharkhand and tribal communities. President Droupadi Murmu was not invited to the Ram Mandir consecration solely because she is a tribal. If tribals remain silent, oppression will continue,” he stated.
Kejriwal also alleged that the BJP aims to abolish reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) by seeking 400 seats in the elections.
He urged the electorate to “remove PM Modi and save the nation,” warning that Modi’s re-election would jeopardize the Constitution and reservation policies. Kejriwal asserted that the INDIA bloc would form the next government at the Centre.
Kalpana Soren, addressing the rally, accused the central government of imprisoning her husband to influence the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She praised Kejriwal for his resilience, citing his release from jail as an inspiration. She highlighted Hemant Soren’s effective handling of the COVID pandemic and various welfare schemes as reasons for the government’s fear of him.
She appealed to the public to vote for JMM candidate Samir Mohanty in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, emphasizing that their votes held the power to free Hemant Soren.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also addressed the rally, challenging the BJP to imprison all AAP members, but vowed to continue fighting against what he described as Modi’s autocratic regime. “The country will function according to the Constitution, not as per the BJP’s diktat,” he declared.
