Delhi Assembly Election Results: BJP Leads, AAP Trails in Key Seats
In the ongoing Delhi Assembly election results, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is currently trailing behind the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Early trends show that BJP has surged ahead, aligning with exit poll predictions. The BJP has crossed the majority mark of 36 seats and is leading in 50 constituencies, while AAP candidates are ahead in 19 seats.
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP’s National Convenor and former Chief Minister, who is contesting for a third consecutive term from the New Delhi constituency, is trailing behind BJP’s Parvesh Verma. Similarly, Delhi Chief Minister and senior AAP leader Atishi Marlena, who is contesting from the Kalkaji constituency, is also behind her BJP rival.
In the Jangpura constituency, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is trailing, with BJP’s Tarvinder Singh currently in the lead.
Despite the overall trend, AAP is showing some strength in a few constituencies. In Shakur Basti, AAP candidate and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain is leading. Additionally, in Greater Kailash, AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj holds a narrow lead of 500 votes.
While the BJP maintains a strong lead across most constituencies, the Congress party continues to struggle, failing to make a significant impact in the elections. The party has yet to secure a major foothold in the ongoing race.
