Arvind Kejriwal Relocates to New Residence Amid AAP’s Political Transition
New Delhi: Following his recent resignation, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to vacate his residence at 6 Flagstaff Road in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area, where he has lived since 2015. Kejriwal, the National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will be moving with his family, including his elderly parents, to a new bungalow near the party’s headquarters.
The residence, located at 5 Ferozeshah Road, was previously allotted to AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal. “Kejriwal will officially move in on Friday,” AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj announced during a press conference.
In an impressive show of solidarity, numerous party leaders, including MPs, MLAs, and councillors, extended their homes to Kejriwal following his decision to leave the official CM residence. Ordinary citizens also rallied behind him, offering their accommodations regardless of political affiliations or socio-economic status.
Kejriwal first became Delhi’s Chief Minister in 2013, initially residing at Tilak Lane. He moved to 6 Flagstaff Road in 2015 after winning the Assembly elections. Now, from his new location, he will oversee AAP’s campaign efforts for the upcoming Assembly polls in Delhi and other states, maintaining proximity to his Assembly constituency.
In related news, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has relocated from his AB-17 bungalow on Mathura Road to a residence on Rajendra Prasad Road, which is the official residence of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh. This shift follows Sisodia’s arrest in connection with the excise policy case in March 2023, after which the bungalow was reassigned to Atishi, the current Chief Minister of Delhi.
As Kejriwal embarks on this new chapter, the political landscape in Delhi continues to evolve, with AAP leaders navigating their transitions amid ongoing challenges and upcoming elections.
