Mumbai: Acclaimed actor Kiara Advani is poised to make her inaugural appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
The renowned star of “Kabir Singh” is set to represent India at the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema Gala dinner during the festival, underscoring India’s burgeoning influence on the global cinematic stage. The event, slated to be hosted by Vanity Fair at Cannes, serves as a platform to celebrate the notable contributions of women in the entertainment industry worldwide.
A regular attendee of Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is also anticipated to grace the film festival. Furthermore, Aditi Rao Hydari is slated to make her presence felt at the gala as one of the esteemed brand ambassadors of L’Oréal Paris.
In a recent conversation with ANI, Aditi expressed her anticipation for her third appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. “I am thrilled to be part of ‘Lioness,’ an Indo-British production featuring two female leads, including Paige Sandhu from the UK. The film delves into the suffragette movement and has generated significant excitement. I eagerly anticipate commencing work on this project, as well as my upcoming commitments with L’Oréal at Cannes,” she remarked.
Aditi marked her Cannes debut in 2022, enchanting audiences with her captivating presence on the festival’s illustrious red carpet. Her subsequent appearances in 2023 continued to captivate, including a stunning ensemble by Oscar De La Renta for a L’Oréal photoshoot.
The Cannes Film Festival commences with the world premiere of Quentin Dupieux’s “Le Deuxieme Acte (The Second Act),” starring Lea Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel, and Raphael Quenard.
During the festival’s opening ceremony, esteemed actress Meryl Streep is slated to receive the honorary Palme d’Or.
