Union Minister for Tourism and Culture and BJP’s Telangana Unit President G. Kishan Reddy Protests Over Congress Government’s Failure to Fulfill Promises to Farmers
Indian Union Minister for Tourism and Culture and BJP’s Telangana Unit President, G. Kishan Reddy, took a stand on Monday by sitting on a protest at the party office in Hyderabad. The protest was in response to the alleged failure of the Congress government to fulfill its promises to farmers. Reddy demanded that the government provide compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to farmers whose crops were affected due to the lack of irrigation water supply. In order to bring attention to this issue, Reddy sat on a ‘Rythu Deeksha’ at the state BJP headquarters. The protest is set to continue until 3 p.m.
Farmers in Telangana have been facing numerous challenges due to the inadequate supply of irrigation water. This has resulted in the withering of crops and significant financial losses for the farmers. The Congress government had promised to address this issue and provide the necessary support to the farming community.
However, according to G. Kishan Reddy, the government has failed to fulfill its promises, leaving the farmers in a dire situation. The demand for compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by the affected farmers and provide them with some relief.
The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in the Indian economy, employing a significant portion of the population. The well-being of farmers is directly linked to the overall growth and development of the country. Therefore, it is imperative for the government to address the challenges faced by farmers and provide them with the necessary support.
The lack of irrigation water supply has had a devastating impact on the livelihoods of farmers in Telangana. With crops withering away, farmers are left with substantial financial losses, pushing them further into debt and poverty. It is essential for the government to take immediate action and provide the promised compensation to alleviate the hardships faced by the farming community.
