Tensions Escalate Between Mega and Allu Families Amid Public Disputes
Hyderabad: Recent events have highlighted ongoing tensions between two prominent families in the Telugu film industry—the Mega family and the Allu family—drawing significant public and media attention.
The conflict began when Allu Arjun, a leading figure in the industry, publicly supported a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate in the elections. This endorsement was unexpected and led to widespread discussion and backlash, raising questions about the strained relations between the Mega and Allu families.
The situation intensified when Mega family member Naga Babu subtly criticized Allu Arjun in a now-deleted social media post. This move fueled speculation and debate about the rift between the families, adding to the ongoing controversy.
Further inflaming the issue, Niharika Konidela, another member of the Mega family, recently spoke at the pre-release event for her film Committee Kurrollu. During her address, she highlighted her brother Ram Charan’s Oscar nomination, her uncle Chiranjeevi’s Padma Vibhushan award, and her uncle Pawan Kalyan’s role as Deputy Chief Minister. Notably, she did not acknowledge Allu Arjun’s historic achievement of winning the first-ever National Award in Telugu cinema, a slight that did not go unnoticed. The video of her speech quickly went viral, exacerbating the situation.
Previously, while promoting Committee Kurrollu, Niharika addressed the controversy surrounding her father’s social media post. She stated, “I don’t know the reason behind whatever my father posted. But, they have their own reasons to do whatever they want. It doesn’t mean we can comment on it because they did something. We didn’t actually talk too much about it at home because everyone has their own reasons. Politically, religiously, spiritually, everyone has a choice to do what they want.”
The ongoing disputes continue to capture public interest, reflecting deeper undercurrents of family rivalry and political allegiances in the Telugu film industry.
