KTR Files Petition in High Court to Quash ACB Case Over Formula E Event Irregularities
BRS Working President and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking to quash the case filed against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The case pertains to alleged financial irregularities related to the Formula E car racing event.
In his petition, KTR requested that the court hear the matter post-lunch, in an effort to expedite the proceedings. The ACB had previously registered an FIR naming KTR as Accused No. 1 (A1), IAS officer Arvind Kumar as Accused No. 2 (A2), and HMDA Chief Engineer B.L.N. Reddy as Accused No. 3 (A3). The case focuses on alleged discrepancies in the handling of funds for the Formula E car racing event.
KTR, a prominent figure in Telangana’s political landscape, has denied the charges and is seeking legal recourse to dismiss the case. The development comes after the ACB registered the case on Thursday, bringing the matter to the forefront of political discourse in the state. The High Court’s decision on the petition is keenly awaited.
