Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to refrain from divisive rhetoric during his impending visit to Telangana as part of the Lok Sabha election campaign.
In a comprehensive statement shared on X in Telugu, KTR emphasized the importance of addressing substantive issues rather than provoking emotional reactions. He called upon the Prime Minister to fulfill the promise of creating 2 crore jobs and questioned the BJP-led Centre’s track record of contributions to Telangana over the past decade.
Highlighting unfulfilled pledges of financial support and allocations to the state, KTR underscored the necessity for the Prime Minister to transparently elucidate his administration’s commitments to Telangana before seeking electoral support.
Expressing skepticism towards divisive political tactics, KTR urged the Prime Minister to focus on fostering unity and presenting a cohesive vision for the nation. He emphasized the electorate’s awareness in Telangana and cautioned against attempts to incite discord.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Hyderabad on May 7 and 8 to bolster the electoral prospects of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Telangana is slated to vote on May 13, as per the timetable released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
