KTR Expresses Concern Over Hyderabad’s Deteriorating Law and Order Situation
Hyderabad: Former MA&UD minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) voiced serious apprehensions on Thursday, July 11, about the declining law and order situation in Hyderabad under the Congress-led state government. Citing prominent newspaper reports, KTR highlighted the city’s growing concerns regarding safety and security.
In his statement, KTR remarked, “What happened to this great city..? Today, leading newspapers like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi are writing news on the front page saying, ‘What happened to this city?’ This indicates that peace and security in the city are completely out of control!”
KTR, also the working president of BRS, expressed dismay over the apparent erosion of ‘Brand Hyderabad’, attributing it to an increase in criminal activities such as murders and the proliferation of interstate gangs.
“There is no peace in Hyderabad. The lives of city residents are not secure. Despite the chief minister’s visits to the police command centre, why is there a lack of effective policing and control over the deteriorating law and order situation?” he questioned.
Highlighting economic repercussions, KTR suggested that investments were dwindling since the Congress took office, adversely impacting employment prospects for the youth.
“Why are there frequent power cuts? How does hindering Hyderabad’s growth into an international city serve the government’s agenda?” KTR queried further.
The remarks from KTR underscore a growing concern among stakeholders and citizens alike regarding the governance and security landscape in Hyderabad, urging immediate attention and corrective measures from the state leadership to safeguard the city’s reputation and residents’ well-being.
