The registration of an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Formula E-Car Racing project has sparked significant political controversy in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. KTR, who has been named Accused No. 1 (A1) along with two others, is facing non-bailable charges in relation to the event, which has come under scrutiny for alleged irregularities.

Responding to the case, KTR dismissed the allegations, confidently stating, “I am not afraid. Not a single paisa of corruption took place.” He defended the decision to pursue the Formula E-Car Racing project, clarifying that it was a policy-driven move made during his tenure as a minister. KTR further claimed that the ACB lacked the jurisdiction to investigate the matter and suggested that the investigation was politically motivated.

KTR also referenced a statement from Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who had earlier assured that no corruption had occurred and that all procedural norms had been adhered to in the project. KTR expressed concern over a potential communication gap at the Chief Minister’s level and questioned whether the Chief Minister was being misled by misinformation.

Furthermore, KTR called for an inquiry into the Outer Ring Road (ORR) tender process, advocating for an investigation led by a sitting judge to ensure impartiality. He suggested that an investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), whose members may be influenced by government pressure, would not provide a fair and unbiased outcome.
