KTR Marks Raksha Bandhan with Nostalgic Tribute to Sister K Kavitha Amidst Legal Struggles
Hyderabad: On Raksha Bandhan, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) publicly expressed his sorrow over the absence of his sister, K Kavitha, who is currently detained in Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi liquor excise policy money laundering case.
KTR shared his sentiments on X (formerly Twitter) by posting nostalgic photos of Kavitha tying Rakhi to him in previous years. In his post, he conveyed his emotional support and solidarity, stating, “You may not be able to tie Rakhi today but will be with you through thick and thin. #Rakhi 2024.”
The BRS organized a Raksha Bandhan event at Telangana Bhavan, where KTR received Rakhi from several women, reflecting the community’s support during this challenging time.
Speaking to the media, KTR expressed his optimism regarding Kavitha’s release. “It has been 155 days since her arrest. We are hopeful that justice will prevail and that she will receive bail soon. We remain committed to seeking justice,” he remarked.
Kavitha, a prominent BRS leader, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 15 in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy, which has since been scrapped. Despite multiple bail requests, she remains in judicial custody.
