K.T. Rama Rao to File Quash Petition in Telangana High Court Over Formula E Funding Case
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) is preparing to file a quash petition in the Telangana High Court, challenging the FIR registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The case involves alleged irregularities related to the funding of the Formula E car racing event.
The FIR, which names KTR as Accused No. 1 (A1), along with IAS officer Arvind Kumar (A2) and HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy (A3), accuses the individuals of authorizing the payment of Rs. 55 crore to a foreign company without obtaining necessary Cabinet approval or financial clearance. The charges are lodged under non-bailable sections.
In response to the charges, KTR has decided to approach the Telangana High Court with the intent to quash the FIR. Notices are expected to be issued within the next few days, summoning KTR for questioning. The upcoming legal challenge marks a significant step in his response to the allegations.
