KTR Addresses IT Hub Rivalry and Telangana’s Challenges During Q&A on X

In a recent Q&A session on the social media platform X, KT Rama Rao (KTR), the prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and former IT minister of Telangana, addressed queries regarding the future of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital, Amaravati, and its potential to rival Hyderabad as an IT hub.

When asked if Amaravati could surpass Hyderabad in this regard, KTR acknowledged the ambitious vision of Andhra Pradesh’s former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu (CBN) but asserted, “Hyderabad is in an orbit of its own. We had beaten Bengaluru in terms of IT growth rate in the past. But with Congress in Telangana, I am uncertain about what lies ahead.”

Critique of the Current Government

KTR did not hold back in his critique of the incumbent Congress government in Telangana, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He highlighted troubling economic indicators, stating, “State revenues are down, crucial sectors like agriculture are suffering, unemployment is rising, and companies are relocating from Telangana.” His remarks reflect growing concerns among the populace regarding the state’s economic stability.

The recent decision by the Telangana government to impose Section 144 in Hyderabad, which prohibits public gatherings, has also drawn KTR’s ire. He described the move as a “disaster for the state’s development,” expressing shock at what he views as an infringement on civil liberties amid rising political tensions and upcoming elections.

Controversial Measures Amid Political Tension

The imposition of Section 144 for a month has sparked widespread criticism. Many perceive it as an overreach by the government, particularly as it seeks to maintain order in light of heightened political activity. The restriction has raised concerns about civil rights and the ability of citizens to engage in democratic discourse.

Focus on Telangana and Leadership Updates

Responding to questions about the BRS’s plans for the forthcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, KTR stated, “Our entire focus is currently on our state, Telangana.” He emphasized the party’s commitment to addressing local issues rather than diverting attention to external contests.

KTR also provided an update on the health of his father and BRS leader, K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). He assured the public that KCR is in “perfect health” and remains in daily contact with party members. KTR noted that KCR is strategically allowing the government time to fulfill its “420” promises, with plans to re-engage with the public in 2025, or possibly earlier.

The Congress Govt has been a disaster in terms of the economic growth as all the statistics are pointing

The state revenues are down, important sectors like agriculture are suffering, unemployment rising and companies are moving away from Telangana

Not sure what plans they… https://t.co/ra43OkjhTR

He is perfectly fine and very healthy and has been guiding all of us every day

As a responsible opposition leader, he is giving the Govt enough time to deliver on their 420 promises

You will probably see a lot more of him in 2025 and beyond https://t.co/YlzSyesjks
