Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader and former state minister, KT Rama Rao, criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that the Congress party came to power by making false promises, particularly to farmers and youths.
Raising concerns on Wednesday, he emphasized that the state government’s focus has shifted solely to political matters, neglecting issues pertinent to farmers and employment.
“Revanth Reddy pledged to create 2 lakh jobs within a year. Five months have elapsed, and the Congress government must fulfill this promise within the next seven months. The people have been deceived by the false assurances of Congress,” stated KT Rama Rao.
Highlighting the plight of farmers, he noted, “Farmers in Kamareddy and Nizam Sagar Mandal have been protesting for the past 25 days without any response from the government. Similar protests are underway in Nirmal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rajanna, and Sircilla due to the government’s failure to procure produce.”
Addressing the ongoing issues, he urged the government to promptly address the farmers’ grievances by purchasing their produce.
Furthermore, he cautioned against electing opportunistic individuals who change affiliations and resort to manipulation through media platforms, citing instances within the Congress party.
Touching upon the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal graduate MLC election, KT Rama Rao expressed confidence in the BRS candidate, Rakesh Reddy, emphasizing his qualifications and positive reputation.
“We urge the electorate not to be swayed by false promises and to consider the track record of BRS in serving the community. We appeal to the graduates to place their trust in our party, given our commitment to their welfare,” reiterated the BRS president.
Highlighting developmental strides under KCR’s leadership, KT Rama Rao emphasized the need for continued progress and urged voters to support BRS for a brighter future.
Earlier, on May 4, KT Rama Rao took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the latter was unaware of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s deviation from party directives.
