Kuwait: Ministry of Education Discovers Salary Irregularities Among Former Employees
The Ministry of Education in Kuwait has recently uncovered a significant discrepancy wherein former employees who departed the country since 2018 continued to receive their salaries.
This revelation follows directives from Dr. Adel Al Adwani, Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, mandating the implementation of a fingerprint-based attendance monitoring system.
According to a report published by the Arabic daily Al-Jarida, the newly integrated system, synchronized with the Civil Service Bureau’s infrastructure, has flagged numerous cases of erroneous salary disbursements to individuals who were absent from the country.
Dr. Al Adwani has promptly instituted an investigative committee tasked with identifying and rectifying instances of unauthorized salary payments, with stringent legal measures to be pursued against those found culpable.
The ministry has initiated rigorous measures to ensure accountability, including comprehensive scrutiny of employment records spanning all departments and educational institutions, with adherence to designated work hours validated through the utilization of fingerprint authentication systems.
