Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh Invites IT Firms Amidst Controversy Over Karnataka’s Local Job Reservation Bill
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has extended an invitation to IT firms to relocate their businesses to AP, responding to concerns raised by Nasscom over Karnataka’s proposed bill mandating job reservations for locals in the private sector. In a statement addressing Nasscom’s disappointment, Lokesh assured IT companies of best-in-class facilities, uninterrupted power, robust infrastructure, and access to skilled talent without governmental restrictions.
The controversy arose after the Karnataka government’s approval of a bill proposing 100% reservation for Kannadigas in C and D-grade positions within private industries, a decision later withdrawn by CM Siddaramaiah following strong opposition from the IT sector.
