Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday evening in what was described as a warm, personal, and meaningful interaction. Accompanied by his wife Brahmani and son Devansh, Lokesh visited the Prime Minister’s official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at approximately 7:20 PM, with the meeting extending until 9:30 PM.
This marked Lokesh’s first private audience with Prime Minister Modi since the formation of the NDA government both at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh. While Lokesh had previously welcomed the Prime Minister during his visits to the state for major events—including the foundation laying of NTPC’s Green Hydrogen Project in Pudimadaka and the inauguration of the Amaravati reconstruction works—this visit was a more intimate affair.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared a personal moment with the family, notably interacting warmly with Devansh, even kissing him affectionately, a gesture that delighted the Lokesh household. The Prime Minister also had dinner with the family, adding a personal touch to the political visit.
A special highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of the ‘Yuvagalam’ coffee table book, which chronicles Lokesh’s 3,132-kilometer padayatra across Andhra Pradesh ahead of the 2024 elections. The Prime Minister not only launched the book but also personally signed a copy and presented it to Lokesh, calling the journey “historic.”
In a statement released after the meeting, Lokesh’s office described the interaction as “memorable,” adding that Prime Minister Modi offered blessings to Brahmani and Devansh. Lokesh also expressed gratitude for Modi’s continued support to Andhra Pradesh and praised the Prime Minister’s leadership in steering the nation towards development and security.
“I urged the Prime Minister to continue guiding Andhra Pradesh in contributing meaningfully to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision,” Lokesh said, signaling closer alignment between the state and the Centre on long-term national goals.
