Taking to social media on Tuesday, lead actor Vijay Antony shared the news with fans via his X handle, writing:

Maargan has already generated significant buzz following the release of its trailer, which showcases Vijay Antony in the role of Dhruv, a determined Mumbai police officer battling personal loss while hunting a serial killer. The killer’s disturbing modus operandi involves drugging young women with a mysterious substance that leaves their bodies charred. As the investigation unfolds, the storyline teases a much deeper mystery. The police’s prime suspect may not be who—or what—they expected.

“About 40% of the film revolves around investigation, while the remaining 60% delves into mystery—specifically, astral travel. If you observe the final shot of the trailer, you’ll see a character’s astral body leaving their physical form. Fantasy is a genre close to my heart as it allows cinema to transcend reality.”
