Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, commending his tireless efforts to turn India into a sporting superpower and empower its youth. Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi praised Mandaviya’s dedication to grassroots development and party welfare, writing,
“Best wishes to Shri Mansukh Mandaviya Ji on his birthday. He is energetically working towards making India a sporting powerhouse and empowering our youth. Equally commendable are his efforts towards the welfare of our workers, who play a key role in building a self-reliant India. May he lead a long and healthy life.”
Marking his special day with action rather than ceremony, Mandaviya led the 25th edition of ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ in New Delhi. This particular ride was dedicated to the brave soldiers of Operation Sindoor, paying homage to their courage and sacrifice.
“Today’s edition is a tribute to our bravehearts who were part of Operation Sindoor. It is heartening to see citizens across the country pedal together for fitness and for our nation’s heroes,” Mandaviya said.
The initiative, part of the larger Fit India Movement, has grown into a nationwide fitness revolution with events in over 5,000 locations. For 25 Sundays straight, the program has encouraged citizens of all ages to embrace cycling as a simple yet powerful route to good health and patriotic engagement. Birthday wishes also poured in from his colleagues, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who wrote: “My colleague in the Union Cabinet, Shri @mansukhmandviya ji, I wish you a very happy birthday. I pray to God for your good health, long life and happy life.”
Born in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, in 1972, Dr. Mandaviya’s political journey began early. At just 28, he became the youngest MLA in the Gujarat Assembly in 2002. Over the years, he climbed the ranks, holding multiple key ministerial portfolios — including Health, Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Shipping — before taking charge of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports in Modi’s third term cabinet in 2024. From Parliament to pedalling for patriotism, Dr. Mandaviya continues to embody the spirit of a new India — fit, focused, and forward-moving.
