Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy Inspects Flood-Affected Areas, Injured During Visit
Telangana Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, undertook a critical inspection of Khammam’s flood-affected catchment areas on Monday following severe rainfall across the state.
During his visit, which included areas such as Pedda Tanda, Sai Krishna Nagar, Nayudupeta, and Jalaganga Nagar, Reddy engaged with victims to understand their concerns and assess the extent of the damage. The inspection was marked by an unfortunate incident when Reddy fell off his bike and sustained injuries while navigating the flood-affected zones.
Despite the accident, Reddy continued with his inspection, listening to the grievances of local residents. He reassured the affected individuals that the government is committed to taking necessary measures to prevent further loss of life and to alleviate the difficulties faced by the flood victims. The minister emphasized the need for prompt and effective rescue operations and urged officials to ensure comprehensive support for those impacted by the floods.
Among the issues reported by residents was the loss of important documents, such as educational certificates, highlighting the severe impact of the floods on personal and educational resources.
Following the incident, Reddy received first aid for his injuries, particularly to his leg, and was advised by doctors to rest. The minister’s dedication to overseeing the relief efforts despite his injury underscores the government’s resolve to address the ongoing crisis and support the affected communities in Khammam.
