BRS Faces Exodus of MLAs, KCR Initiates Strategic Replacements
After suffering setbacks in the 2023 assembly elections and recent MP polls, the Bharatiya Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) is grappling with an exodus of MLAs, raising concerns about its leadership and electoral strategy. Approximately 10 MLAs have departed from the party recently, leaving voids in constituencies critical to the party’s strength.
In response to these defections, party president KCR has swiftly initiated a defensive strategy by appointing local in-charges to rejuvenate cadres and mobilize party workers in affected areas.
Danam Nagender’s departure to Congress from Khairatabad prompted KCR to consider appointing Manne Govardhan Reddy as the local in-charge. Similarly, the exit of Prakash Goud from Rajendranagar to Congress is likely to see Sabita Indra Reddy’s son, Karthik Reddy, take charge.
Meanwhile, the departure of mass leader Arekapudi Gandhi to Congress has posed a significant challenge in Serilingampally, where finding a replacement is deemed highly challenging.
In Patancheru, Mahipal Reddy’s recent move to Congress has prompted BRS to nominate Bhupal Reddy as the new in-charge.
The strategic appointments underscore KCR’s proactive approach to mitigate the impact of MLA defections and reinforce the party’s organizational strength ahead of future electoral battles.
