PM Modi Visits Adampur Air Base, Sends Strong Message Amid Operation Sindoor Fallout
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab on Tuesday, days after Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike by Indian forces following the Pahalgam terror attack. The visit carried both symbolic and strategic significance amid rising tensions with Pakistan after failed cross-border attempts on May 9 and 10.
During his time at the base, Modi interacted with Air Force personnel who played a crucial role in defending Indian positions. He commended their bravery and dedication, calling them “an embodiment of courage and determination.” The Prime Minister also shared images from his visit on social media, showing moments of camaraderie, handshakes, and even emotional embraces with the soldiers. The Trishul insignia was visible on his cap—a subtle but powerful nod to India’s military strength.
Refuting Pakistan’s Misinformation
The visit also served a tactical purpose—debunking Pakistan’s disinformation campaign. Islamabad had claimed that India’s critical defense infrastructure, including the S-400 air defense system, had been severely damaged in recent skirmishes. However, Modi’s pictures from the Adampur base clearly showed an intact S-400 system, sending a clear message that Pakistan’s claims were false and misleading.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had earlier dismissed Pakistan’s statements as “heinous propaganda,” and Modi’s on-ground presence served to further discredit those claims in the public eye.
Operation Sindoor: India’s Bold Response
Modi’s visit came just a day after he publicly addressed the nation regarding Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the terrorist killings in Pahalgam. In his national address, the Prime Minister declared that over 100 terrorists were neutralized and multiple terror camps were dismantled in Pakistan-occupied territories. He emphasized that India will not hold any discussions with Pakistan that do not center on the complete eradication of terrorism, specifically from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
“If Pakistan dares to start a war at the borders, India now has the capability to strike at its heart,” Modi said, warning that India will respond decisively to any future provocations.
Solidarity with the Armed Forces
Modi spent over 90 minutes at the Adampur base, receiving detailed briefings on the operation’s outcomes and future preparedness. His presence bolstered morale among the forces and sent a message of unwavering political and public support to India’s military personnel.
The visit also served as a counter to Pakistan’s psychological warfare, highlighting India’s readiness, resilience, and retaliation capability in the face of evolving threats.
