“Kalki 2898 AD,” a highly anticipated sci-fi thriller directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, is set to hit theaters on June 27. In a recent interview with an English media outlet, Ashwin shared intriguing insights about his experience working with some of the industry’s top actors.
The film features an ensemble cast, including legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, making the direction a formidable task. “Directing such stars is no easy feat,” Ashwin admitted. “These icons have been in the industry for over four decades. It’s almost laughable to explain scenes to them.” He recounted shooting the first scene with Amitabh, which included some intense action sequences. Ashwin marveled at how both Amitabh and Kamal Haasan continually seek to learn and grow, regardless of their towering status in the industry.
Ashwin also emphasized the film’s appeal to a younger audience. “I wanted to make a film that even 12-year-olds would enjoy,” he explained, highlighting the engaging action scenes and the thoughtful design of futuristic vehicles. He noted the relevance of certain elements, such as characters wearing masks and using oxygen cylinders, reflecting real-world scenarios.
When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Ashwin playfully dodged the question, suggesting instead that the interviewer ask something else, leaving fans eager and speculating about the future of the “Kalki 2898 AD” universe.
