Nagarjuna Akkineni Joins Rajinikanth in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie
Nagarjuna Akkineni has been cast in a significant role in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film Coolie, which stars the legendary Rajinikanth. The announcement was made by Lokesh Kanagaraj on social media to mark Nagarjuna’s birthday.
In a post on X, Kanagaraj expressed his excitement about Nagarjuna joining the project, stating, “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Simon. Welcome on board and wishing you a very happy birthday sir @rajinikanth sir @anirudhofficial @anbariv @girishganges @philoedit @Dir_Chandhru @sunpictures @PraveenRaja_Off.”
Nagarjuna will portray the character Simon in the film. Lokesh Kanagaraj also unveiled Nagarjuna’s first look from the film, showcasing the actor in a rugged, stylish appearance with a beard and moustache.
In response, Nagarjuna expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude on X, writing, “Thank uuuu Loki, I have been wanting to work with you since Kaithi!!! Absolutely excited for our journey ahead @Dir_Lokesh. Looking forward to sharing screen space with the Thalaivar.”
Coolie is produced by Kalanidhi Maran’s Sun Pictures, and the cast recently expanded with the addition of Soubin Shahir, known for his role in Manjummel Boys.
Additionally, Nagarjuna will be seen in the much-anticipated social drama Kubera, with his first look from the film having been revealed earlier this year in May.
