Telugu cinema’s iconic “God of Masses,” Nandamuri Balakrishna, recently marked a stellar milestone — completing 50 years in the film industry. Adding to his accolades, the Indian Government honored him with the prestigious Padma Bhushan for his outstanding contribution to the arts. Now, the Telangana Government has taken a special step to celebrate his legacy by presenting him with the inaugural NTR National Award, a highlight of their grand Gaddar Awards honoring Telugu cinema’s finest talents.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, NBK said he was deeply touched by the recognition, especially as it coincides with two remarkable celebrations: the centenary of his legendary father NTR’s birth and the 75th anniversary of the acting career of another Telugu cinema legend, ANR.
“I am truly honored to receive this award during such a significant time for Telugu cinema,” Balakrishna shared. “I thank the Telangana Government for this esteemed honor and the Telugu audience for their endless love and support throughout my journey. I remain forever indebted to them and look forward to entertaining everyone with many more memorable films in the future.”
With this tribute, Telangana not only honors a cinematic titan but also reinforces its commitment to celebrating the rich heritage of Telugu film, bridging the past legends with the present stars.
