Chandrababu Naidu’s Swift Response to Cyber Expert’s Issue Highlights Commitment to Governance
During the ‘Swarna Kuppam Vision-2029’ program at Dravidian University, Penumarthi Harikrishna, Director of the National Cyber Security Research Council (NCSRC), shared an anecdote that shed light on the quick and efficient response of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, during his tenure as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh. Harikrishna recounted how Naidu resolved a personal issue by responding to an email that cost only ₹4, demonstrating his dedication to addressing citizen concerns.
Harikrishna, who was facing a challenge during Naidu’s earlier term, had emailed him about the problem. Despite his modest monthly salary of ₹3,000 at the time, Naidu personally responded to the issue in a matter of two months. Harikrishna expressed admiration for the Chief Minister’s commitment to governance, citing his personal engagement in resolving issues despite the challenges of a busy leadership role.
However, Harikrishna also voiced his concerns about the lack of responses to his recent emails to the Chief Minister’s office. He noted that despite sending multiple emails to “cm@ap.gov.in,” he had not received any feedback. Undeterred, Harikrishna revealed his plans to attract 100 companies to Andhra Pradesh, with the potential to create significant job opportunities for youth and generate an estimated ₹1,000 crore in revenue through the cyber sector. He emphasized that if given the opportunity, his expertise could contribute substantially to the state’s economic and technological advancement.
In response to Harikrishna’s concerns, Naidu assured him that the state’s secretary, Pradyumna, would follow up on his requests. Additionally, Naidu expressed his intention to include Harikrishna as an advisor in the state’s cyber security technical team, recognizing his potential to strengthen the region’s security infrastructure. He further pledged that Andhra Pradesh would become the leading state in cyber security, reflecting his administration’s focus on innovation and future-proof governance.
The exchange highlighted not only the state’s focus on cybersecurity but also Chandrababu Naidu’s ongoing commitment to resolving challenges through proactive engagement with experts and citizens alike. Naidu acknowledged that while governance can sometimes impede timely communication, he would work to address such issues to enhance efficiency in the future.
