Hyderabad: Actor NTR Jr. paid homage to his grandfather and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on his 101st birth anniversary at the NTR ghat on Tuesday morning.
Videos captured the RRR star at the memorial, respectfully offering his tribute with folded hands.
Accompanying NTR Jr., his brother Nandamuri Kalyanram also laid flowers at the memorial to honor NTR.
Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, son of NTR, was also present at the ghat to pay his respects to his late father.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, affectionately known as NTR, was a multifaceted Indian personality—actor, producer, director, editor, and politician—who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years.
His contributions to Indian cinema were recognized with three National Film Awards for co-producing ‘Thodu Dongalu’ (1954) and ‘Seetharama Kalyanam’ (1960), as well as directing ‘Varakatnam’ (1970). Additionally, NTR received the Rashtrapati Awards for his performances in films such as ‘Raju Peda’ (1954) and ‘Lava Kusa’ (1963).
Looking ahead, NTR Jr. is set to appear in the Pan-India film ‘Devara’, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, and is also involved in ‘War 2’, directed by Ayan Mukerji, renowned for ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, and ‘Brahmastra’.
