Odisha Police Detain BJP’s Khurda MLA Candidate Prasanta Jagadev for Alleged Polling Booth Vandalism and EVM Damage
Prasanta Jagadev, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Khurda MLA, has been detained by Odisha police following allegations of vandalizing a polling booth and damaging an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The incident occurred at Kuanripatna in the Begunia Assembly constituency.
According to reports, Jagadev engaged in a dispute with polling officials before allegedly vandalizing the EVM and departing from the scene. Subsequently, law enforcement officials apprehended him.
At the Begunia police station, Jagadev staged a protest, asserting that he had no involvement in damaging the voting machine and claimed that the EVM fell accidentally.
