OpenAI Expands AI Agent Service to More Countries, Enhances Automation Potential
OpenAI has announced the expansion of its ‘AI Agent’ service, which is now available in several additional countries. Initially restricted to ChatGPT Pro users in the United States, the AI Agent service can now be accessed in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. This move is intended to improve AI-driven automation by offering users virtual co-workers that autonomously execute online tasks based on provided instructions.
However, users in certain European countries, such as Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland, will need to wait longer before the service is available to them. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously stated that these AI Agents are capable of performing tasks traditionally handled by software engineers but clarified that they are not equipped with independent reasoning abilities. While AI Agents are not expected to replace software engineers entirely, Altman recognized their potential to significantly impact the industry by assisting with repetitive tasks.
