Over 12,000 Central Government Grievances Pending: Lok Sabha Informed

The Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday that more than 12,000 complaints related to central government departments are currently pending on the public grievance portal of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, disclosed in a written reply that the portal serves as a centralized platform for registering public grievances concerning central ministries, departments, as well as state and Union territories. Each complaint receives a unique registration ID for tracking its status.

Singh emphasized that grievances are addressed in a decentralized manner by the respective ministries, departments, states, and Union territories. He noted that a majority of complaints are resolved within 30 days of registration.

According to data provided by the minister, between January and June of the current year, 58,612 complaints were received, alongside 34,659 complaints carried forward from the previous year. Of these, 80,513 grievances were resolved, leaving 12,758 pending.

In 2023, a total of 1,84,227 complaints were registered, with an additional 19,705 complaints carried forward from the previous year. Out of these, 1,69,273 complaints were redressed, while 34,659 remained unresolved.

Regarding grievances against state governments and Union territories, 46,696 complaints (excluding 25,724 from the previous year) were received in the first half of this year. Of these, 46,219 were resolved, leaving 26,201 pending.

In 2023, a total of 91,973 complaints were filed against state governments and UTs. The data indicated that 2,58,633 complaints were resolved, including those carried forward from the previous year, while 25,724 grievances were still pending.

The disclosure underscores ongoing efforts to streamline grievance redressal mechanisms and ensure timely resolution of public concerns across various administrative levels.
