Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi strongly criticized the cancellation of the CSIR-NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Eligibility Test), alongside allegations of irregularities and a purported paper leak in the NEET-UG exam, as well as the cancellation of the UGC-NET and NEET-PG exams.
Owaisi demanded an unconditional apology to the students from Prime Minister Modi and the Union Cabinet.
“Exam warrior @narendramodi has waged a war on our youth’s future. First, it was NEET UG (~23 lakh students), then UGC-NET (~9 lakh students). Then CSIR-NET was cancelled (~2 lakh students). NEET-PG (~2 lakh) was cancelled a night before the exam. The responsibility lies with Modi & his ministers. Our youth deserve an apology from the PM & justice from his govt,” he stated.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Friday the postponement of the June edition of the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR-NET), citing unavoidable circumstances and logistical issues.
This decision came after the agency cancelled the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) within 24 hours of its conduct, citing compromised exam integrity, amidst a significant controversy surrounding NEET over alleged irregularities, with the matter now before the Supreme Court.
Additionally, the Union Health Ministry announced on Saturday the postponement of the NEET-PG entrance examination, originally scheduled for June 23, as a precautionary measure following recent allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive exams.
“The Ministry of Health has decided to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the robustness of the NEET-PG entrance examination processes, administered by the National Board of Examination (NTA) for medical students. Consequently, as a precautionary measure, the NEET-PG entrance examination scheduled for tomorrow, June 23, 2024, has been postponed,” the ministry affirmed.
