Palla Srinivasa Rao, President of the Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party (TDP), confidently hailed Nara Lokesh as the party’s future leader during the ongoing Mahanadu event in Kadapa. Speaking at the gathering, Rao expressed hope that this Mahanadu would mark a historic moment by formally passing the party leadership baton to Lokesh.
Describing his privilege to deliver the inaugural address as a “great fortune,” Rao thanked Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the opportunity. He praised Nara Lokesh’s evolution from being recognized as the son of Chandrababu Naidu and grandson of N.T. Rama Rao to becoming a leader in his own right—one who commands widespread public support. Highlighting Lokesh’s overwhelming victory in Mangalagiri as proof of his growing political stature, Rao emphasized the leader’s maturity and ability to learn from past setbacks.
“Lokesh dedicates himself tirelessly to party affairs, maintains close connections with the public, consults extensively with fellow leaders, and drives reforms to keep the party relevant in a rapidly changing political landscape,” Rao stated. He further commended Lokesh’s deep understanding of key issues such as digitization and decentralization, which position him well for future leadership challenges.
Rao also reflected on the historic decision to host Mahanadu in Kadapa—traditionally a stronghold of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party. Despite initial skepticism about local cooperation, Rao expressed delight at the warm reception from residents, leaders, and activists, with many opening their homes to accommodate party workers. This spirit of unity, he noted, underscores the party’s growing grassroots strength.
Looking ahead, Rao clarified that Mahanadu’s agenda extends beyond party worker welfare. “This event is a platform for debating and adopting crucial resolutions on Andhra Pradesh’s future—focusing on development decentralization, grooming the next generation of leaders, and reinforcing the party’s commitment to timely, visionary decisions,” he said. He underscored that the combined experience of Chandrababu Naidu and the fresh dynamism of Nara Lokesh is a formidable strength for the TDP.
Concluding his remarks in a TV9 interview, Palla Srinivasa Rao affirmed that Nara Lokesh has matured into a capable leader ready to take charge, signaling a historic leadership transition within the Telugu Desam Party.
