Pawan Kalyan Clarifies Stance on Hindi Imposition and NEP-2020
Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that he neither supports the imposition of any language nor the blind opposition to it, as both hinder national and cultural unity. Addressing the ongoing debate over the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Hindi language, Kalyan clarified that he is not against Hindi but opposed to making it mandatory.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the misinformation surrounding the claim that Hindi is being forcibly imposed under NEP-2020. He vehemently denied the allegations, stating, “Creating false narratives about Hindi being imposed under NEP-2020 is an attempt to mislead the public.” According to him, the NEP-2020 does not enforce Hindi as a mandatory language but offers students the flexibility to choose from a variety of languages.
Under the NEP-2020 framework, students are given the option to learn one foreign language and two Indian languages, including their mother tongue. Hindi, while an option, is not compulsory. Students can select from a wide array of Indian languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and others, providing ample opportunities to study regional languages.
Pawan Kalyan further emphasized that the multilingual policy is designed to foster national unity while preserving India’s linguistic diversity. He accused certain political groups of deliberately misinterpreting the policy for their own agendas, asserting that his stance remains unchanged and that the Jana Sena Party is committed to the principle of language freedom and the right to education.
In conclusion, Pawan Kalyan urged the public to understand the true spirit of the NEP-2020, and warned against spreading confusion over the issue. He reiterated that the Jana Sena Party stands firmly for education and linguistic rights, allowing every individual to choose the language they wish to learn without any coercion.
