In a significant gesture reflecting his personal commitment to rural development, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has sanctioned ₹50 lakh from his own funds for the comprehensive development of Konidela village, named after his illustrious family, in Nandikotkur mandal, Nandyal district.
The announcement follows a recent interaction during the Pantakunta construction inauguration event in Pudicherla, Kurnool district. During the event, Nandikotkur MLA Jayasurya appealed to Pawan Kalyan to take a special interest in the progress of Konidela village. Responding affirmatively, the Deputy CM pledged personal support to uplift the village.
Fulfilling his promise, a cheque of ₹50 lakh was formally handed over to District Collector Rajakumari, DRO Ramunayak, Administrative Officer Ravi Kumar, and Section Superintendent Narasimha Rao at a ceremony held at the Nandyal Collectorate on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Collector Rajakumari stated that the district administration has already charted a development plan for the village. “In line with the requests from residents, a 90,000-litre capacity water tank will be constructed. Additionally, infrastructure upgrades will include the development of internal roads, drainage systems, and essential civic amenities,” she added.
The financial contribution is expected to significantly enhance the quality of life in Konidela, further reinforcing Pawan Kalyan’s image as a people-focused leader who acts beyond official responsibilities.
