Prashant Kishor Promises to Lift Bihar’s Liquor Ban if Elected
Political strategist Prashant Kishor, who is set to officially launch his new party, the Jan Suraj Party, on October 2nd, has made a bold promise regarding Bihar’s liquor ban. Kishor declared that if his party comes to power, they would end the liquor ban within one hour.
Kishor, who has been preparing for this launch for the past two years, expressed confidence in defeating the Janata Dal (United) and RJD in the upcoming Assembly elections. He criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, stating that their 30-year tenure has failed to bring development to the state. Kishor called for both parties to step aside.
The liquor ban, imposed in 2016, has led to increased illicit alcohol consumption and associated deaths. Despite ongoing demands for its repeal, Chief Minister Kumar’s government has firmly resisted lifting the ban.
