PM Modi Criticizes Congress, Slams MVA Ahead of Maharashtra Elections

Dhule: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Congress-led INDIA alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, claiming that the opposition alliance is trying to destabilize the unity of the country and foment caste divisions.

Addressing his first rally in Maharashtra for the November 20 assembly polls, Modi accused the Congress of attempting to take the Constitution out of Jammu and Kashmir by advocating for the restoration of Article 370, emphasizing that such efforts would not succeed under his leadership. He reiterated that “Only Ambedkar’s constitution will be followed in Jammu and Kashmir” and condemned the MVA for promoting divisive politics.

In a sharp critique, Modi claimed that Congress and its allies were working to pit castes and communities against each other, stating that the Congress’ “agenda” was to create divisions within Dalits, Adivasis, and backward classes. He warned that if these communities remained united, the Congress would be finished. “Ek hai, toh safe hai,” he said, emphasizing the importance of unity among Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Further criticizing the MVA coalition, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP, Modi described it as a “vehicle with no wheels or brakes” that was falling apart due to internal power struggles. He contrasted the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance’s record of development with the “misrule” of the MVA, accusing the opposition of obstructing key development projects when in power.

Modi also emphasized the strides made by the state under BJP’s leadership, highlighting Maharashtra’s economic growth, including the surge in foreign direct investment (FDI) over the past two years. He vowed that Maharashtra’s development would continue to reach new heights under the Mahayuti government.

On women empowerment, Modi took a swipe at the MVA, criticizing them for opposing the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme aimed at improving opportunities for women. He warned that if the MVA comes to power, they would scrap this scheme, urging women to remain cautious of such regressive policies.

Modi’s remarks further touched on the government’s efforts to bring major infrastructure projects to Maharashtra, including the Vadhavan Port and plans for a third airport in the area, pledging to continue working on these initiatives if re-elected.

As the assembly elections approach, Modi’s rally in Dhule was a pointed reminder of the BJP’s focus on governance, unity, and development, contrasting sharply with the opposition’s internal divisions and alleged failure to deliver on promises.
