PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome in Paris Ahead of AI Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Monday for his two-nation tour, starting with a significant visit to France. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who greeted him with a hug at a dinner ahead of their co-chairing of the AI Summit. PM Modi expressed his delight on meeting Macron, calling him a friend on X, while also interacting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who was also present in France for the event.
During the three-day visit, PM Modi will focus on strengthening the India-France strategic partnership. He will co-chair the AI Action Summit with Macron, where global leaders and tech CEOs will gather to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The discussions will emphasize the responsible development of AI and innovation for the public good.
On Wednesday, PM Modi and Macron will pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I at the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille. The two leaders will also inaugurate India’s first Consulate General in the city, further strengthening bilateral ties.
In his statement before departure, PM Modi highlighted the importance of his visit, emphasizing discussions on AI, innovation, and collaboration, as well as the India-France partnership in various sectors. This marks PM Modi’s sixth visit to France.
