PM Modi Visits RSS Headquarters in Nagpur, Lays Foundation for Key Projects
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic visit to Nagpur, Maharashtra, marking the first time a sitting Prime Minister has visited the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). PM Modi paid floral tributes at the memorials dedicated to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and second Sarsanghchalak (chief) M.S. Golwalkar at the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir. He was accompanied by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat during the visit.
Upon his arrival in Nagpur, PM Modi was warmly received by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at the airport. After paying homage at the Smruti Mandir, the Prime Minister proceeded to visit Deekshabhoomi, an important historical and cultural site, and will later lay the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur. This new facility, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre, aims to provide world-class eye care with 250 beds, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres.
Additionally, PM Modi is set to inaugurate a loitering munition testing range and an airstrip for Unarmed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited’s ammunition facility in Nagpur.
In his visit to Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 33,700 crore across various sectors including power, oil and gas, rail, road, education, and housing. He will also initiate key infrastructure projects such as the NTPC Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III and the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company’s first Super Critical Thermal Power Project. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several railway and road projects to enhance connectivity and infrastructure.
Focusing on education, PM Modi will dedicate 130 PM SHRI Schools and a Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur. The visit will also see the distribution of keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, underlining the government’s commitment to infrastructure and social welfare.
This extensive visit is a significant step in furthering development, infrastructure, and social initiatives across Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, reaffirming the government’s resolve to strengthen the country’s growth in various sectors.
