Pooja Hegde: “I’ve Come a Long Way, but There’s Still a Long Way to Go”
New Delhi, Jan 30: Actress Pooja Hegde, known for her acting prowess and striking beauty, has worked with some of the biggest stars and directors in the industry. From her humble beginnings in the Tamil film industry to making her Bollywood debut alongside Hrithik Roshan in Mohenjo Daro (2016), Pooja has come a long way. Despite her successful career, the 34-year-old actress feels there’s still a lot more for her to accomplish in the entertainment world.
Pooja’s journey began in 2012 with the Tamil film Mugamoodi directed by Mysskin. Over the years, she has starred in a range of high-profile films with renowned stars like Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Salman Khan, Ram Charan, and Ranveer Singh. Her upcoming project, Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor, is one of the most awaited films of the year.
When asked about her journey so far and whether she feels she has “made it” in the industry, Pooja humbly responded, “I’ve made it far, quite far, but a long way to go in my mind. I don’t want to put that pressure on myself. But yes, I’ve been here, and I’m still standing strong.”
Reflecting on her unlikely path to acting, Pooja shared how she never imagined herself as an actress. “I come from a non-filmy family,” she said, explaining how her parents had pursued careers in law and business, and her brother is an orthopedic surgeon. “I never thought acting was a possibility for me. My family is very academically driven, but here I am, so happy to be doing what I love.”
Despite the recognition she has received, Pooja is focused on further growth in her career. “There are so many roles I haven’t played yet, and so many filmmakers I want to work with. I’m just continuing for the love of cinema.”
Pooja Hegde’s next release, Deva, is an action thriller directed by Rosshan Andrrews, co-starring Pavail Gulati. The film is set to hit theaters on January 31, and the actress is excited to take on new challenges and continue her cinematic journey.
