Posani Krishna Murali Remanded for 14 Days Over Controversial Remarks
Actor and filmmaker Posani Krishna Murali has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the Railway Koduru Court in connection with a case related to remarks he made against political leaders Pawan Kalyan and N. Chandrababu Naidu. The case, which was investigated by the Obulavaripalle police in Annamayya district, came after Posani’s controversial statements sparked public outcry.
Posani was questioned for approximately nine hours before being presented before the Railway Koduru Magistrate. Court proceedings continued through the night, from 9:30 PM to 5:00 AM, with extensive arguments from both the prosecution and the defense. After careful deliberation, the judge issued a 14-day remand order for the actor.
During the hearing, Posani acknowledged making the statements in question but explained that they were born out of personal distress. He revealed that the remarks were made in retaliation to the verbal abuse directed at his wife, an incident which deeply hurt him. Posani maintained that his comments were truthful but expressed frustration that only his statements were emphasized, while the offensive remarks directed at his wife were ignored and removed from social media platforms.
Posani’s remand follows a series of legal actions and has led to widespread discussions, particularly over the nature of political discourse in the region. His legal team has indicated that they will challenge the decision in the coming days, as the situation continues to unfold.
