Bollywood star and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has once again shown that her commitment to the nation goes far beyond the cricket field. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, Zinta has donated ₹1.10 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of the South Western Command under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The generous contribution was made during a special program held in Jaipur, attended by the Army Commander of the South Western Command, the regional president of AWWA under the Sapta Shakti Command, and families of army personnel. The donation is aimed at empowering the widows of fallen soldiers and supporting the education of their children—a step toward honoring the immense sacrifices made by members of the armed forces. Speaking at the event, Preity Zinta said,
“It is both an honour and a responsibility to assist the brave families of our soldiers. While we can never truly repay the sacrifices made by our armed forces, we can stand beside their families and help them build a brighter future. We are incredibly proud of the Indian Army, and our support for them is unwavering.”
Zinta’s contribution has been widely lauded by military officials and citizens alike. Her act of philanthropy adds to a growing list of celebrities using their platform to contribute to national causes, setting an inspiring example of social responsibility and patriotic solidarity.
