Rahul Gandhi and Congress Leaders Celebrate International Women’s Day with Strong Messages of Empowerment

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, extended heartfelt wishes to women across the nation, highlighting their indispensable role in shaping society.

Through a post on X, Gandhi acknowledged the strength, resilience, and voice of women, stating, “Women are the backbone of our society. Their strength, resilience, and voice shape our nation’s future.” He emphasized his unwavering support for women, asserting his commitment to breaking barriers and empowering them to shape their own destinies. “On this International Women’s Day, I stand with you and for you – committed to breaking every barrier until every woman is free to shape her own destiny, chase every dream, and rise to greater heights. Happy Women’s Day!” Gandhi wrote.

In a video message shared on social media, Gandhi encouraged women to embrace self-reliance and independence, urging them not to be suppressed by anyone. He also recognized the crucial role of homemakers, emphasizing that women caring for their children at home are making an equal contribution to the nation’s future.

In a similar spirit, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed his support for women, underscoring the importance of gender equality for national development. “National transformation begins with gender equality. Women, through their wisdom, dedication, and strength, are powerful agents to reshape societies. Greetings on International Women’s Day 2025!” Kharge wrote on X.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also took to social media to mark the occasion, greeting women across the country. “Happy International Women’s Day to all our sisters across the country. From the freedom struggle to the building of the nation, women have always participated in every field and have proved their powerful leadership capabilities,” she wrote.

She further emphasized the need for increased participation of women in all sectors, stating, “Today, there is a need to increase the role and participation of women even more. The more women come forward, the more powerful and beautiful the country will become.”

The Congress leaders’ messages reflect a strong commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality as an essential pillar of national progress.
